Ground-up school construction is the full scope, from the transformer pad to the last classroom receptacle — and a hard opening date.
Summerlake Elementary was built to relieve the fast-growing Horizon West corridor, taking pressure off Independence and Water Spring elementary schools. The $24.3-million campus at 15450 Porter Road was designed by Rhodes + Brito Architects and delivered by OHL Building — one of the general contractors Grassland has long worked beside — and opened its doors to students in August 2020.
New-build school work is the complete electrical package: service and distribution, lighting and controls throughout, site lighting for loops and lots, and the low-voltage backbone a modern campus depends on. It all converges on one immovable milestone — the first day of school.
