Renovating a building the public walks into every morning.

Grassland completed renovation work at the City Center at Hanna Avenue, a 161,000 square foot LEED Gold municipal facility in East Tampa housing six City of Tampa departments and roughly 500 employees. The work was carried out in an occupied government building, with departments continuing to serve the public throughout.

Renovation in an active municipal facility carries constraints that have little to do with the electrical scope itself. Public service counters stay open, staff remain at their desks, and any shutdown has to be scheduled around the hours the building serves residents. Grassland sequenced the work to fit those windows, verifying systems at each stage before advancing. The result is a facility that never stopped serving East Tampa while the work moved through it.
