School work happens on the district’s calendar — summers, breaks, and nights — and it opens on time, because it has to.

Columbia Elementary School sits on Cypress Lake Glen Boulevard in Orlando, an Orange County Public Schools campus serving roughly 500 students in grades pre-kindergarten through five. Grassland carried out a full electrical renovation of the campus, replacing the building's electrical systems while the school stayed open and in session for the entire project.

Working around a high-performing campus doesn't change the electrical scope, but it raises the cost of getting the sequencing wrong. Every shutdown was scheduled outside instructional hours, life safety systems were tested and cleared before crews advanced to the next section, and the whole project moved in a sequence built around the school's calendar rather than around convenience. Grassland has delivered this kind of renovation across Central Florida school districts, and Columbia never lost a single day of instruction to the work.
