School work happens on the district’s calendar — summers, breaks, and nights — and it opens on time, because it has to.

Innovation High School opened in 2024 off Dowden Road in southeast Orange County. Innovation now enrolls approximately 3,000 students in grades nine through twelve.

Unlike renovation work on an existing campus, this was a ground up electrical project. Grassland assisted with design and contributed edits during the construction phase. That involvement carries added responsibility: decisions on service entry, distribution, and load layout made early in the process affect how the campus performs and expands for years afterward.

Ground up work removes some of the constraints common to occupied campuses, including phased access and coordination around active class schedules, but it introduces its own demands around sequencing and delivering a fully functional facility ready for opening day. Grassland's electrical scope supported Innovation High School's opening on schedule.
