Electrical Estimator/Project Manager
Job Description:
The Electrical Estimator/Project Manager is responsible for producing proposals and price quotes for commercial and residential projects. This candidate also manages the logistics once a project is awarded to the company, therefore, it is imperative that this candidate have electrical field experience. Jobs must be realistically bid and effectively managed finish on time, on budget. This candidate must also have the ability to build positive sustainable relationships with peers, subordinates, vendors, and clients.
Primary Duties:
- Read RFPs and/or make initial site visit to document the scope of work
- Produce quality take-offs from drawings and/or notes from site visit
- Recommend construction materials, means and methods
- Produce finished proposal for presentation to prospective clients
- Prepare construction schedules, Bill of Materials and source unique materials
- Communicate with Superintendent and/or Foreman at the job site
- Work with Project Coordinator to document job progress and maintain job files
Skills/Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience in the construction industry with a proven record of following a project from start to finish
- Experience in commercial electrical work is a plus
- Bachelor of Science (Construction Engineering or Construction Management) preferred or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge and comprehension of architectural drawings, working drawings and specifications
- Minimum competency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with computer take-off and plan programs preferred
- Possess analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Must be self-directed yet able to work as a member of our team
- Possess valid driver’s license and ability to visit job sites
